Next Steps to becoming a Five Acres volunteer (PLEASE READ!):

Step 1: Complete the Online Volunteer Application, which will include verifying that you have read, understand, and agree to our Volunteer Release and Waiver and have read the Volunteer Handbook.

Step 2: Within the application, you are given some choices of different roles that you might be interested in pursuing! Select any of the volunteer roles you'd like to learn more about!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Dog Walker or Kitty Cottage Caretaker (at least one 2 hour shift per week based on our needs)
Puppy Attendants have been very helpful for our Canine Team and the pups! They have been very helpful for our Canine Team and the pups! If anyone else wants to learn about what all is involved in being a Puppy Attendant, please email me!
Spay/Neuter Clinic Assistant - Clinics are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Our volunteers assist with cleaning/repackaging surgical tools, helping with post-surgery tasks, including clipping nails, and monitoring the dogs and cats as they come out of surgery.
Kennel Cleaners - our early risers who help us from 7-9am cleaning our adoptable dog kennels. If you enjoy getting things squeaky clean, this opportunity is for you. Each dog gets their kennel hosed down, and then volunteers and staff make sure fresh bedding and toys are provided to each dog for the day. This is a critical volunteer role that ensures our dogs are happy and healthy!

Step 3:

Once your application has been submitted, I will send a link to process your $20 registration fee, and another link to schedule time with me for a volunteer planning session so we can meet in person.

Step 4: Once the fee is paid, I will share the link to watch the online Volunteer Orientation, and subsequent trainings required to volunteer in your preferred area.

If you are not available to walk dogs in the Canine Clubhouse or help in the Kitty Cottage weekly on days/times needed at the time of your application submission, please check back in the next few months to see if our needs have changed!
