The Hill Community Center Volunteer Policies

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Hill Laundry Center. We appreciate your dedication to creating a supportive and welcoming environment for our middle and high school student patrons. To ensure a smooth and effective volunteer experience, please review the following policies and procedures:

  1. Eligibility:

    • All adult volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

    • A background check will be required for all volunteer positions.

    • Complete mandated reporter training

  2. Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to the mission, values, and policies of The Hill Laundry Center.

    • Treat all students, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and courtesy.

    • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of our students.

    • Students are responsible for doing their own laundry. Feel free to offer advice if asked.

    • Please refrain from handling students' clothing to protect against liability.

  3. Volunteer Shifts:

    • Volunteers are expected to arrive on time and fulfill their scheduled shifts.

    • Notify the Volunteer Coordinator in advance if unable to attend a shift.

  4. Dress Code:

    • Dress appropriately in clean and modest attire.

    • Avoid clothing with offensive language, logos, or graphics.

  5. Training and Orientation:

    • Attend mandatory volunteer training sessions and orientations.

    • Familiarize yourself with the layout of the laundry center and its operations.

  6. Health and Safety:

    • Follow all health and safety guidelines provided by The Hill Laundry Center.

    • Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator.

  7. Code of Conduct:

    • Abide by the rules and regulations set forth by The Hill Laundry Center.

    • Refrain from engaging in any form of discriminatory, harassing, or inappropriate behavior.

  8. Termination of Volunteer Services:

    • The Hill Laundry Center reserves the right to terminate volunteer services at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, violation of policies or misconduct.
