Organization Policies
Volunteers are the heart of our community, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth, and families in Waterloo Region. Whether you're on the road, offering a compassionate ear, supporting a child or caregiver, or working quietly in the background, your time and energy help to ensure children and families thrive.
Family & Children’s Services is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and accessible workplace. We encourage volunteer applications from Indigenous people, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, people of colour, and people with disabilities, as we value the unique perspectives and lived experiences that enrich our team and help us better serve the diverse families and children in our community. If you believe that you can make a real difference in the lives of those we work with, we invite you to self-identify as part of the process.
Our volunteer roles are designed to be flexible, allowing you to contribute in ways that fit your interests, skills, and availability. Join us in fostering hope and resilience—apply today to start your journey as a valued member of our volunteer team!
At Family & Children's Services, we are required by law to use the Child Protection Information Network (CPIN) to conduct record checks when a volunteer application is received. Once you submit your application, you will receive a Child Welfare Record Consent form. Your consent grants permission to conduct a search in relation to your application via CPIN, which includes records from all Child Welfare Agencies in Ontario. If you have any questions about this process, please ask us at volunteer.services@facswaterloo.org.
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
