Volunteer Code of Conduct and Waivers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Mustard Seed!

We use the “Better Impact” system to collect and manage our volunteer applications online. At the bottom of this page, you can either create a “MyImpactPage” profile to fill out your application, or if you already have one, you can log in to your profile. Before you get started, please review our Code of Conduct and Volunteer Waiver as you will need to sign off on both of these, should you wish to continue. Thank you again for your time and effort in volunteering with The Mustard Seed.

If you have any difficulties or concerns, please email volunteer@mustardseed.ca or call (778) 677.1335.

VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT

The Mustard Seed Street Church is more than a place of work; it is a community of people united by their common vision of service. This service commitment is the foundation of the life of this church and expresses itself practically in the quality of relationships with fellow volunteers, staff and clients. We believe that as a church, we have been given a mandate to bring God’s love, peace, dignity to the less fortunate of Greater Victoria. This is accomplished through a ministry of service.

As a volunteer for The Mustard Seed, I commit to the following:

  • To conduct myself in a manner that promotes unity within the community
  • To show compassion, kindness, humility and patience to one another
  • To conduct myself in a manner consistent with a church environment regarding appropriate language, dress and a zero tolerance of drug or alcohol use
  • To graciously and respectfully receive direction and instruction in the performance of the assigned duties
  • To bring grievances in a timely manner to the attention of a supervisor for prompt resolution
  • To always promote a positive image of The Mustard Seed Street Church
  • To respect and maintain confidentiality regarding community members
