Volunteer Camp HOPE Counselor Application
Join Us as a SafeNest Volunteer Camp Hope Counselor!
Looking for a meaningful summer adventure? As a volunteer Camp Hope Counselor, you'll mentor and inspire youth facing challenges while leading fun activities, team-building exercises, and meaningful conversations. Live on-site for one week at Catalina Island Camps, create lasting connections, and be a positive role model in a supportive empowering environment.
Catalina Island Camps is located at Howlands Landing, a cove on the leeward side of beautiful Catalina Island. Catalina Island Camps is accredited by the American Camp Association.
Volunteer Camp Counselors are required to:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Pass a background check
- Pass CAN Registry (Child Abuse and Neglect Registry)
- Complete in-person and virtual training
What You’ll Do:
✔ Commit to ten (10) total days including a mix of in-person and virtual training and five (5) days onsite at camp.
✔ Supervise and support a small group of campers ages 7 - 17
✔ Lead games, discussions, and activities
✔ Foster growth, resilience, and hope
✔ Work alongside an amazing team

Camp Location: Catalina Island Camps, Catalina Island, CA
SafeNest provides:
- Transportation to and from Las Vegas to Catalina Island
- Food and beverages for the duration of camp
- Accommodations at camp
