Our Mission and Committment to a Plant-Based Diet Policy

Organization Policy

North Florida Veg Events, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to educate the community (Gainesville and surrounding areas in North Central Florida) about the benefits of healthy plant-based lifestyles and how they contribute to a healthier, more sustainable, compassionate, socially just, and cruelty-free world.

Commitment to Plant-Based Living

Volunteers do not need to be vegan to serve with North Florida Veg Events, although some positions may require it (e.g., Program Director). We ask that our volunteers be open-minded to a plant-based lifestyle and committed to the mission of North Florida Veg Events (i.e., educating the community about the benefits of plant-based lifestyles and how they contribute to a healthier, more sustainable, socially just, compassionate and cruelty-free world).

In accordance with our mission, all meetings and events hosted by North Florida Veg Events will be vegan and animal products may not be used or consumed on premises. Vegan means no meat (beef, pork, poultry, fish), eggs, dairy products or by-products (casein, whey), honey, gelatin, leather, wool, silk, bone or any products made with these items. Any member of the Leadership Team can answer questions about whether a particular item is acceptable and can offer suggestions or support for replacing non-vegan items with vegan alternatives.
