Volunteer Policy and Agreement
Thank you for taking the time to volunteer at We Care Animal Rescue. We want to make sure your time here is safe and enjoyable. Therefore, there are some important rules and processes we ask that everyone adhere to:
Please sign in your hours for every shift. This is very important to help us know how many volunteers are active, where they spend their time, and where we may need additional help. We also use this information in our annual report, for audits, when applying for grants, and to evaluate our volunteer program.
You must follow all procedures and protocols, and be able to perform the duties of the volunteer position pertaining to your volunteer description. Failure to comply is grounds for dismissal from the volunteer program. If you have questions about a procedure or protocol, present your question to the supervisor.
You will be able to schedule your own shifts using our online volunteer portal. There will be multiple shifts available for each day of the week.
You will receive updates via email. We request that you read the update emails to stay informed of shelter news, changes, policies, updates and events, etc. You can e-mail any questions you have to volunteers@wecareanimalrescue.org
Please wear your name tag and your volunteer shirt during your shift. If you need one, email volunteers@wecareanimalrescue.org
∙ For your safety, no open-toed sandals/ flip flops, shorts or short skirts, or tank tops should be worn while on your volunteer shift working with animals. Pants must at least reach mid-calf.
Do not bring your own pet to the shelter or any offsite event you are volunteering at.
Please alert staff members of any medical or behavioral conditions that require immediate medical attention.
There is a $35 registration fee that includes your shirt and your name tag. If you are financially unable to pay this fee, please speak with the Volunteer Coordinator. You may also choose to sponsor another volunteer and cover their fee for them.
