Telephone Support Application - Distress Line, TeleConnect, LGBTQ+ Support Line
Telephone Support is a program within Compass Community Services designed to support members of the City of Guelph and Wellington County who are isolated and/or experiencing distress through the processes of telephone and texting communication.
Volunteers within the program will engage with a diverse group of community members whose challenges may range from having a bad day where they require emotional support to being in a state of crisis and requiring emergency intervention.
Volunteers will be trained to use a solution-focused practice that is applicable to the health care, social service, and criminal justice fields of work. They will be primarily responsible for operating remotely through telephone and text messaging to support those in need.
