Telephone Support Application - Distress Line, TeleConnect, LGBTQ+ Support Line
Telephone Support is a volunteer program designed to support community members who are isolated and/or experiencing distress through the processes of telephone and texting communication. Volunteers within the program will engage with a diverse group of community members whose challenges may range from having a bad day where they require emotional support to being in a state of crisis and requiring emergency intervention.
This opportunity is best suited for those interested in health care, social service, and the criminal justice fields of work.
The training to become a volunteer consists of self-learning modules, group training, and 1 on 1 training with a staff member. It is a multi-stage approach designed to support all types of learners.
Upon completion of your application you will be able to immediately begin the self-learning modules. These must be completed in order to be eligible in attending the group training.
