Volunteer Telephone Crisis Support Requirements
To become a Volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporter you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
Hold or willing to obtain a current Fit2Work Police Check (paid for by Lifeline) and Working with Children Check (free for Volunteers)
Volunteers are also asked to make a minimum time commitment to Lifeline of 2 years, and complete all three stages of Training including:
- Stage 1 - 9 or 13 week training course
- Stage 2 - 16 hours of placement shifts (within 2 months i.e. 4 x 4hr shifts)
- Stage 3 - 92 hrs crisis support (within 12 months i.e.one 4hr shift per fortnight)
