Volunteer Agreement
This volunteer agreement is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us, and it may be cancelled at any time by either us or you. To terminate your volunteer role, please email supportgroups@resolve.org to notify staff.
RESOLVE is a tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation, incorporated in the state of Massachusetts, dedicated to providing information, education, advocacy, and support for individuals experiencing infertility and raising public awareness about infertility.
This AGREEMENT is made between RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, (hereafter called "RESOLVE"), and all individuals applying to volunteer, (hereafter called "Volunteer")
- You are a volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with RESOLVE. Upon agreeing to this agreement, you perform all duties on a voluntary basis, and you will not receive remuneration or payment for your work, other than reasonable reimbursement of expenses (see below at paragraph 9). Neither RESOLVE or the Volunteer intend any employment or contractual relationship to be created.
- What you can expect when volunteering at RESOLVE. RESOLVE values its volunteers and we will endeavor to provide you with:
- a written position description so you understand your role and the tasks you are authorized to perform
- a full induction, orientation and any training necessary for the volunteer role
- respect for your privacy, including keeping your private information confidential
- a Volunteer Coordinator, so that you have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback
- What RESOLVE asks of its volunteers? We ask you to:
- Support RESOLVE mission and objectives
- participate in all relevant induction and training programs
- only undertake duties you are authorized to perform and always operate under the direction and supervision of staff and obey reasonable directions and instructions
- understand and comply with the organization’s policies and procedures including compliance with RESOLVE’s core values:
- Care and compassion
- Integrity and without bias
- Respect for all resolutions
- Credibility and authority
- A strong sense of community
- The goal to drive positive change
- A passionate belief that everyone deserves the right of family
- notify your Volunteer Coordinator or another member of staff of any health and safety issues or potentially hazardous situations that may pose a risk to you or others
- behave appropriately and courteously to all staff, clients and the public in the course of your role
- use any property or equipment given to you in your role safely and only for purpose of the role and return it to the organization when you finish your volunteer role
- let us know if you wish to change the nature of your contribution (e.g. hours, role) to RESOLVE at any time
- comply with the law at all times, and
- be open and honest in your dealings with us and let us know if we can improve our volunteer program and the support that you receive.

- Role description and details
It is important that you only perform the tasks in your volunteer role description and that you follow the instructions of RESOLVE staff. If you are unsure whether a particular task or work is authorized, please do not hesitate to talk to your contact person.
- The health and safety of you and others
At RESOLVE, volunteer safety, and the safety of everyone who is involved in our organization, is a priority. RESOLVE has a duty to minimize risks to everyone affected by its conduct (including paid employees and volunteers). It also means that as a volunteer, you have to be aware of you duties too. These include:
- to take reasonable care for your own health and safety
- to take reasonable care for the health and safety of others
- to comply with any reasonable instruction by RESOLVE
- to let RESOLVE know of any concerns you may have about safety and/or fitness in undertaking our role, and
- to cooperate with any reasonable policies and procedures of RESOLVE.
We will provide you with a full induction and role training when you commence as a Volunteer with our organization. However, please do not hesitate to talk to your contact officer at any time if you have any health and safety concerns.
- Induction and training required before you start in the volunteer role
RESOLVE is committed to providing suitable training in support of our health and safety, discrimination and privacy policies. For this reason, it is our policy that all volunteers undertake induction and/or training with RESOLVE prior to commencing their volunteer position. Please contact David Mosheyev to confirm induction and training for your respective volunteer role.
RESOLVE Assumption of Risk and Liability Release Waiver
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDES A WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND DEPRIVES YOU OF THE RIGHT TO SUE RESOLVE AND OTHER WAIVED PARTIES.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is pleased to be able to resume in-person programs in accordance with state and local regulations. In consideration of the opportunity to participate as a Volunteer for RESOLVE, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Liability Waiver
- By attending the Programs, I hereby release and waive, on behalf of myself and anyone else who might claim on my behalf, RESOLVE, Inc. (including its board members, officers, agents, servants, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, successors, volunteers, and assigns, collectively, “RESOLVE”) from all responsibility, claims, liability, demands, and financial obligation relating to my participation during, before, and following the Program, or any related RESOLVE sanctioned or unsanctioned events, transportation, or activities.
- I understand that while every attempt will be made to ensure the safety and security of all participants and attendees at RESOLVE events and meetings, RESOLVE is not responsible for any property damage, injury, accidents, illness, or death, including those related to COVID-19, which may occur before, during and following any such events, including those that may arise from the negligence of RESOLVE.
- General Assumption of Risk: I assume any and all other risks associated with the Participant taking part in the Program, including but not limited to, falls, contact with other Program participants, staff or spectators, slippery or uneven surfaces, the effect of weather including high heat and/or humidity, and the possibility of being infected with the virus causing COVID-19, all such being known and appreciated by me.
- COVID-19 Safety Warning and Acknowledgement
- COVID-19 carries inherent risks: I am fully aware that participation in the Program, including any related travel, carries with it certain inherent risks related to COVID-19 transmission, exposure and/or infection, the exact nature of which are not currently ascertainable, and which may not be eliminated or reduced regardless of the care taken to avoid such risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, (1) the risk of coming into close contact with, or otherwise being exposed to, individuals or objects that may be carrying COVID-19; (2) the risk of transmitting or contracting COVID-19, directly or indirectly, to or from other individuals; and (3) injuries and complications ranging in severity from minor to catastrophic, including injury, illness, disability and death, resulting directly or indirectly from COVID-19 or the treatment thereof.
- I am responsible for risks associated with COVID-19: I understand I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and actions during my participation in the Program. I understand and voluntarily assume the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 during RESOLVE activities, which may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, RESOLVE volunteers, leaders, and staff.
- I will not participate in RESOLVE’s in-person events if I may have COVID-19:I understand that the following are symptoms of COVID-19: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea (“COVID-19 Symptoms”). I certify that in the last 14 days, I have not experienced COVID-19 Symptoms or been in close contact with anyone with COVID-19 Symptoms or who has tested positive for the COVID-19 Virus. If I develop any COVID-19 Symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or am in close contact with someone with COVID-19 Symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19 prior to beginning RESOLVE affiliated activities, I will not participate in RESOLVE activities or gatherings.
- I acknowledge that I have read RESOLVE’s COVID-19 Procedures and agree to adhere to them.
By signing below I acknowledge that (1) I am at least eighteen years old and fully competent to give my consent, (2) I have read and understood this Liability Release Waiver, (3) I have been sufficiently informed of the risks involved in connection with the Program, (4) I am signing this Liability Release Waiver freely and voluntarily in order to participate in the Programs, and (5) I am giving up legal rights and/or remedies which may be available to me.
