Volunteer Requirements
We are thrilled you are here. Welcome! The entire NVNA and Hospice team appreciates your desire to work with folks in Hospice.
There are a few things you need to know before moving on to the application...
• This is a clinical volunteer opportunity, as well as a rewarding and important one.
• To ensure that all volunteers are equipped for the challenge of working with the dying, Hospice Services of Massachusetts and Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts require that volunteers complete extensive orientation and training sessions, as well as submit to a routine background check.
• Volunteers must complete a 14-hour clinical orientation. This involves online and in-person training. (Don't worry; we have a lot of fun!)
• All Volunteers must be vaccinated for COVID-19, have the current Influenza vaccine, test negative for TB, and clear a CORI check, OIG check and the CNA Registry.
• NVNA & Hospice Volunteers participate in mandatory yearly training and reviews alongside the entire NVNA & Hospice team.
• Volunteers follow the same mandates and standards of conduct as the NVNA & Hospice staff.
