Application Process
Fostering saves lives! Here’s how you can help:
Thank you for your interest in fostering with Nashville Humane Association!
Our fosters provide temporary homes for animals needing a break from the shelter environment. Animals that may need foster homes include those that are recovering from medical procedures, dogs & cats that need a break from the shelter environment, young kittens and puppies that aren’t quite old enough to be available for adoption, and more!
When you volunteer to foster a shelter animal, you become part of a lifesaving team that is working towards creating bright, healthy & safe futures for dogs and cats in our community!
What do foster families need to provide?
■ A healthy and safe environment for their foster dogs and cats.
■ Transportation to and from the shelter for vet appointments as needed.
■ Socialization and cuddle time to help teach dogs and cats positive family and pet relationships.
■ Exercise and enrichment opportunities to keep our animals happy and healthy!
Will I need to purchase supplies?
No! All supplies including food, toys, food bowls, bedding, a collar & leash (or cat carrier) will be provided. NHA also provides all medical care for your foster animal.
