Shoreditch Trust Volunteer Agreement

We appreciate your volunteering with us, and this agreement indicates our commitment to do the best we can to make your volunteering experience a positive and rewarding one. We aim to be flexible so please tell us if there is anything you would like to change or discuss. You should also be made aware of your Volunteer Role description, the Volunteering Policy and Volunteer Handbook. As an organisation we undertake to:

· introduce you to your role, to the organisation and to other staff and volunteers that you will come into contact with;

·provide training and/or information about your role and tasks where necessary;

·provide regular opportunities for you to meet or speak with your supervisor;

·create with you a list of mutually agreed tasks so that you have clear information on your tasks and are clear about your role;

·seek to understand your reasons for volunteering, interests and wishes and to meet these as far as possible;

·reimburse you for out of pocket expenses (against receipts);

·provide opportunities for you to participate in decision-making processes which affect your role and tasks;

·provide a safe environment and insurance cover for you whilst you are volunteering; ·treat you with respect, in accordance with our equal opportunities policy;

·respond to your concerns or complaints as quickly as we can.

As a volunteer you undertake to:

·complete tasks within agreed guidelines, to the best of your ability;

·support Shoreditch Trust’s aims and objectives, recognising that you will be a representative of the Trust in your voluntary undertakings;

·arrive at the time/s and place/s agreed with your supervisor. In the event that for any reason you might be late or not come, you must advise your supervisor in advance. You are expected to reliable and punctual at all times;

·treat all members of the community, volunteers and staff with respect, impartiality and dignity;

·maintain appropriate boundaries amongst members of the community, volunteers and staff;

·adhere to Shoreditch Trust organisational policies and procedures;

·ask your supervisor for support if needed;

·respect confidentiality and adhere to Shoreditch Trust’s Data Protection policy

·take part in relevant training if your supervisor so advises;

·work in a safe way, adhering to health and safety procedures.

This agreement is binding in honour only; it is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us and may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party. No employment relationship has been created either now or at any time in the future. However, for reasons of organisation, safety and courtesy the Trust does have policies and procedures in place for volunteers. The purpose of these is to guide a strong and reciprocal relationship between the Trust and its volunteers. This Agreement should be read and signed in conjunction with the Shoreditch Trust Volunteering Policy.
