Tech Team Code of Conduct 

Our organization expects its volunteer members to meet the highest ethical standards in their actions, their use of privileges, and their dealings with others. This Code of Conduct document outlines those standards in order to help our volunteers avoid potential problems and maintain accountability. All Tech Team volunteers are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct and sign this document to confirm that they have read and understood the standards listed here.   

The overall goals of the Tech Team are:

1.    To work safely and attentively, while maintaining the safety of the team and members of the public.
2.    To facilitate live performances and special events, thereby enriching the culture and values of our community.
3.    To be prompt, professional, and efficient in performing duties as assigned.
4.    To pay attention during training and communicate concerns when a task is unclear or ill-suited to them.
5.    To provide feedback to Technical Staff on policies, procedures, and training in order to promote better practices and enhance the volunteer experience.

The following Code of Conduct is designed to help Tech Team members conduct their affairs with integrity and credibility. This Code of Conduct applies to all volunteers who act on behalf of Tech Team when dealing with members of the public, performers, agents, music promoters, renters, sponsors, members of other performing arts organizations, other volunteers, and paid individuals who work in conjunction with The City of Spruce Grove and Horizon Stage.

Service

1.    Always act with fairness, honesty, integrity, and openness; respect opinions of others and treat all with equality and dignity.
2.    Promote the mission and objectives of the Tech Team in all dealings with the public when acting on behalf of the Tech Team.
3.    Provide a positive experience for those who attend and participate in the Tech Team, City of Spruce Grove Special Events, and Horizon Stage functions. 

Accountability

1.    Adhere to the Policies and Procedures and expanded Code of Conduct detailed in the Tech Team Volunteer Manual.  
2.    Take responsibility for personal actions and decisions. Ensure that you do not exceed the authority of your position.

Conflict of Interest 
Conflict of interest arises when a person participates in a decision about a matter (including any contract or arrangement of employment, leasing, sale or provision of goods and services) which may benefit that person because of their direct or indirect monetary or financial interests affected by or involved in that matter. 

In the event that such a matter arises, the person shall formally disclose the interest, refrain from attempting to persuade or influence other persons participating in the decision, and shall not cast a vote on the matter.

Confidentiality

Respect and maintain the confidentiality of information gained as a Tech Team member. Abide by the terms of the Tech Team Confidentiality Agreement detailed in the Tech Team Volunteer Manual.

Sexual or Personal Harassment

Sexual harassment is any conduct, comment, gesture or contact of a sexual nature that is unwanted or unwelcome by an individual.
Personal harassment means any conduct that is verbal or physical that is discriminatory or offensive in nature.  It includes conduct that is unwanted or unwelcome including actions that cause distress and serve no legitimate purpose within the organization.

Horizon Stage does not condone sexual or personal harassment.
