Organization Policies

Education Volunteers can Expect that The Rooms will:

Provide adequate orientation, training and resources for your programs
Ensure you have access to Rooms support staff at all times
Accept and respect your time constraints
Recognize the value of your contribution
Provide a Rooms membership (valid for 1 year) after 30 hours of volunteering

The Rooms expects that Education Volunteers will:

Submit to an RNC/RCMP criminal records check, this will be completed at no cost to you
Commit to volunteering one morning (9:15 am-11:45 am) a week during the school year (October 3-May 24)
Learn the information necessary to deliver the programs
Email the volunteer coordinator when you are unable to attend a program you are scheduled for
Interact with students, teachers and other program participants in a positive manner
Direct comments or concerns to members of the Education Team or your Volunteer Coordinator.
