CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY POLICY

Respecting the privacy of our clients, donors, members, staff, and volunteers is of the utmost importance to St. Petersburg Free Clinic. Personal and financial information is confidential and should not be disclosed or discussed with anyone without permission or authorization from the CEO. Care shall also be taken to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not overhear any discussion of confidential information and that documents containing confidential information are not left in the open or inadvertently shared.

Volunteers of SPFC may be exposed to information which is confidential and/or privileged in nature. It is the policy of SPFC that such information must be kept confidential both during and after volunteer service. Volunteers are expected to return materials containing privileged or confidential information at the time of expiration of service. Unauthorized disclosure of confidential or privileged information is a serious violation of this policy and will subject the person(s) who made the unauthorized disclosure to appropriate discipline, including removal/dismissal. Under the law, people have the right to have their confidentiality respected and can pursue legal action if a significant breach of confidentiality occurs.

Consideration should also be given to the privacy of the environment. No photographs or recordings of clients, employees, volunteers or the St. Pete Free Clinic of any kind may be taken or shared with any outside entity including social media without the express consent of the SPFC, the client, employees, or volunteers. Approved images will be available for sharing through SPFC media platforms.
