Volunteer Program Expectations:
Volunteers are direct representatives of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the State of California. As such, volunteers are expected to be willing to disseminate accurate park information to the visiting public, continuously learn historical and cultural information, complete required trainings, be open to suggestions for improvement, and attend meetings. Volunteers must wear presentable clothing and maintain good hygiene, arrive on time for shifts, adhere to all park rules and regulations, and treat all park visitors and staff with respect.
Volunteers cannot begin service until all required training for the respective activities is completed and approved by the Volunteer Coordinator. California State Parks is not required to accept or retain volunteers that do not meet expectations of the park's volunteer program.
