Organization Policies
Therapeutic Riding Inc. (TRI) is a PATH, International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) affiliated center. In accordance with PATH standards, all riders must comply with our basic policies:
1) Active Status—Participants retain "Active Status" if he/she is medically safe to ride, and submits annual form renewals by communicated deadlines. If annual form renewals are not submitted by the deadline the rider will be placed on Inactive Status, and moved to the wait list. Please see our complete Participant Policies for additional information on maintaining Active Status.
2) Attendance Policy—All program participants are expected to follow our Attendance Policy. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the participant losing his or her class slot and being placed on the wait list.
3) Weight Limit—Our weight limit for mounted equine activities is 200 pounds, or less dependent upon ambulatory status, range of motion, and discretion of instructor. The Program Director and/or Head Instructor have the discretion to make exceptions to this policy.
4) Participant Conduct—For the safety of all humans and horses involved in our programs, we expect participants to adhere to the standards outlined in our Rider Handbook. We reserve the right to dismiss any participant for conduct that is detrimental to the program.
