Rules for Program Participation
You are entering into an agreement with Habitat for Humanity Prince William County to perform community service work (CSW). After your registration is complete and you are accepted as a CSW volunteer, you will be able to choose your shifts through the Volunteer Portal according to availability. You are expected to work the assigned schedule. If you cannot report as scheduled for any reason you must notify the Volunteer Coordinator in advance (703) 369-6145 ext. 102 or cancel your scheduled date and time online. In the event of an emergency, you must notify the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible.
You are expected to comply with the standards of performance and conduct, and all assigned work shall be completed as directed and in compliance with our quality standards. Failure to report as scheduled, performing unsatisfactory work, or unacceptable conduct may result in your case being returned to your referring service as non-compliant.
You will be required to sign in and sign out at the ReStore to receive credit for your CSW hours performed.
Use or possession of alcohol or any controlled substance is prohibited and can result in criminal charges and termination from this site and contract.
You must maintain proper grooming and clothes must be modest with no objectionable or offensive designs or language. Proper footwear is required: no open-toed shoes, sandals, or crocks.
Your volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Prince William County is on an “at-will” basis. This means your volunteering program contract may be terminated at any time if found showing any disrespect, inappropriate language, abusive language, or behavior toward personnel or customers.
Cell phone use is not permitted while performing community service work.
Before you may begin any community service work with Habitat for Humanity Prince William County (HFHPWC) you will be required to sign a waiver releasing Habitat for Humanity Prince William County of any liability. You will also have to sign a Consent for a Background check to determine eligibility. A one-time non-refundable fee of $120.00 must be paid to Habitat for Humanity Prince William County. This will cover the background check, volunteer slot, and letters to the court, lawyer, or probation officer.
