Communify's Policies and Procedures

Commitments and Expectations

Before you take the next steps in becoming a volunteer with Communify, we ask that you agree to follow our policies and Code of Conduct, which are outlined in our Volunteer Handbook (see the link below). Our policies are comprehensive and available to you on request.

Child Safe Code of Conduct

At Communify, we are embedding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people into everything we do. To support this, we have a Child Safe Code of Conduct that applies to everyone on our team.

The Code sets clear expectations for how we work with and around children. It means:

  • Acting respectfully, courteously, and ethically with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Listening to and responding to children’s views and concerns.

  • Creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments.

  • Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

  • Reporting any concerns or disclosures of harm promptly, in line with our policies and legal obligations.

It also makes clear what is not acceptable, including behaviours that could harm children, discrimination, inappropriate language or material, arranging personal contact outside Communify activities, or working under the influence of alcohol or prohibited drugs

Training

The orientation and training you receive will depend on the role you’ve chosen and the team you’ll be joining. You will be assigned a supervisor who will provide you with the necessary information about your role and any training you may need.

To ensure the quality of our services and the safety of everyone involved, we have certain expectations of our volunteers—just as Communify Queensland Ltd is committed to supporting and valuing your contribution.
