Volunteer Policy – As accepted when you register as a volunteer and annually as a returning volunteer.
- The minimum age for all volunteers is 18 on or before May 1st of each year.
- New Volunteers—We want to ensure we are the right fit for you. You must attend and complete a virtual interview and in person orientation. You will also need to complete an entire shift during the June 13th game before receiving your uniform. A volunteer bib will be provided. We require a $50.00 commitment fee to be paid following the preseason game and prior to receiving your uniform. Upon acceptance, you will be able to schedule for available shifts. The game will qualify for the annual recognition package. New volunteers will learn both ticket scanning and hosting, our two primary roles.
- Returning volunteers will also have a general re-orientation and training.
- The Volunteer Handbook and its information are emailed prior to orientation and are deemed to be accepted and received.
- Volunteers can self-schedule but are restricted to the available options. We may re-assign volunteers based on where we need to fill roles. The volunteer is responsible for scheduling.
- We may request a CRC for some events. You must complete and pass it to be eligible for those events.
- A valid email and access to the Internet are required. Please ensure that you add rob.harrison@saskriders.com and volunteers@saskriders.com to your address book. We also suggest using your personal email rather than your work email as your primary email address. We also ask that you do not use mobile carrier emails.
- Please enable the text receipt option on the contact page of your profile. It is only used on game days with those scheduled for the game and/or in the event of an emergency.
- All volunteers may be asked to complete an online evaluation survey at the end of the season.
- As a Rider Squad member, you agree to using your image by the Rider Squad and Saskatchewan Roughriders organization or affiliates.
- You accept that you are volunteering at your own risk and that the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club and its Operating Partners are not liable for any loss, injury or damages.
- Volunteers are expected to adhere to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Code of Conduct, Social Media policy and Respectful Workplace policies Found Here in addition to any Rider Squad policies. Failure to follow any policy may result in being terminated from the program. The full policies are also available to Rider Squad volunteers on the MyImpact homepage.
- If you resign or are terminated from the program for any reason, you must return your uniform. Failure to do so will result in being invoiced for the full retail value of the uniform at the current valuation of $450.00. Uniforms are not meant to be donated.
- You agree to wear your uniform only at sanctioned events. If you have tickets to the game, you need to change out of your uniform.
- Rider Squad logo’d items and signed gifts are not meant to be monetized. RiderSquad uniform elements are not meant to be sold.
- We appreciate the time and heart you give as a member of the Rider Squad and provide a recognition program to thank you. To get the most out of this experience, a minimum commitment of 6 games is required each season, plus any playoff games. If you do not meet the 6-game threshold, you may be asked to re-apply for the next season. The full Recognition outline is available in the documents section on your homepage prior to the start of the season and will be covered in the orientation and training sessions.
- We are all fans and want to enjoy the games. However, as Rider Squad Members, we are also here to fulfill Gameday Roles, and each of us is expected to do so. Being a Rider Squad Member is not a free ticket to the game.
- Volunteers must abide by the same conditions for entry into the stadium as fans. The prohibited and permitted is found at https://www.riderville.com/permitted-and-prohibited/
