SART Volunteer Policies

  • I am age 19 or older
  • I identify as Trans, Two-Spirit, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or as a cis-woman
  • I have not accessed services at the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre in the past year
  • I have reviewed all of the training dates and will be able to attend all sessions
  • I understand that missing any training sessions may result in me being unable to complete training
  • I commit to volunteering 2 shifts per month for a minimum of one year once I have completed training
  • I commit to attending monthly SART Group Debriefs and/or Ongoing Training Sessions held on the 4th Monday of the month 5-7pm and the 2nd Thursday of the Month 5-7pm 
  • I agree to debrief with staff/senior sart after any SART response
  • If I am a white person I commit to participating meaningfully in a minimum of 3 unlearning white supremacy sessions during my contract
  • I do not anticipate any changes in my residence, employment/school situation over the next year that would affect my ability to attend all training sessions and volunteer
  • I agree that any information mentioned in my application package is true to the best of my knowledge
