Little Growers, Inc. Volunteer Policies conduct
Welcome to Little Growers, Inc.! Our volunteers are vital to our mission of cultivating healthy communities through hands-on education and urban gardening. To ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone, we ask that all volunteers read and agree to the following policies.
1. Code of Conduct
All volunteers are expected to act with respect, professionalism, and integrity. This includes:

Treating all staff, other volunteers, and community members with courtesy and kindness.

Refraining from the use of profanity, harassment, or any form of discriminatory behavior.

Following instructions from Little Growers, Inc. staff and team leaders.

Maintaining a positive attitude and working collaboratively with others.
2. Punctuality and Attendance

Volunteers should arrive on time for their scheduled shifts and notify a staff member as soon as possible if they will be late or unable to attend.

Consistent attendance is important. If you need to cancel a shift, please provide at least 24 hours' notice to allow us to adjust our plans.
3. Safety Guidelines
Your safety is our top priority. All volunteers must:

Follow all safety rules and instructions provided by staff.

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor work (e.g., closed-toe shoes, sun protection).

Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a staff member immediately.

Use tools and equipment only as instructed and for their intended purpose.
4. Confidentiality

Volunteers may have access to sensitive information about our organization, our participants, or our partners. You must agree to maintain the confidentiality of all such information.

Do not share personal stories or identifiable information about community members or other volunteers without their express permission.
5. Photo and Media Release

By volunteering, you agree to our Photo/Media Release Policy, which allows Little Growers, Inc. to use photos or videos of you taken during events for promotional and educational purposes. If you are not comfortable with this, please inform a staff member in advance.
6. Background Checks (as applicable)

Depending on the nature of the volunteer role, particularly those involving direct contact with children or vulnerable populations, Little Growers, Inc. may require a background check. You will be notified if this is necessary for your position.
7. Dismissal Policy
Little Growers, Inc. reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer who fails to adhere to these policies or whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the organization or its mission.
