What is a Family Ambassador?
Family Ambassadors are diverse, enthusiastic undergraduate student leaders at the University Park campus who serve as student liaisons between the Office of Parent and Family Engagement and Penn State parents and families at large, assisting in routine office tasks, and with key parent and family programming throughout the year.

Responsibilities of Family Ambassadors include:
- Serve as a team member alongside the Office of Parent and Family Engagement staff
- Work collaboratively alongside parent and family volunteers through the Parents Council and Parent Ambassadors
- Participate in the Office of Parent and Family Engagement's annual events, including but not limited to Family Weekend, New Student Arrival, and Welcome Week
- Plan Family Appreciation Day
- Engage in network opportunities with Parents Council members via a mentorship program
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource to parents and families about Penn State
- Work collaboratively with fellow student leaders
Time Commitment
- Term: September - April
- Attendance at biweekly meetings during the spring and fall semesters
- Requirement of 2 volunteer hours per month
- Requirement of a minimum of 6 volunteer hours during Family Weekend
- Participate in Family Appreciation Day
