Emory Healthcare Volunteer Program Requirements

COMMUNITY BASED VOCATIONAL TRAINING (CBVT) VOLUNTEER PROGRAM DATES
(Please note, this application is ONLY for the CBVT Program and NOT for the Adult, College, Labor Support or VolunTEEN Programs.)

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility

  • Community Based Vocational Training (CBVT) or Emory Healthcare Work Study Program participants

ONBOARDING PROCESS

Application

  • Submit the 2026-2027 Emory Healthcare Work Study Program Application, which includes the following required onboarding paperwork:
    • Confidentiality Statement
    • Acknowledgement of Privacy & Security Awareness
    • Standards of Conduct

Health Screening
Complete an Occupational Health Assessment with an Emory Occupational Health Nurse, which includes:

  • Tuberculosis screening (T‑SPOT blood test)
  • Submission and review of current immunization records for:
    • Varicella (Chickenpox)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

An Emory Occupational Health Nurse will draw a small amount of blood for the T-SPOT Blood Test. To help you feel your best, be sure to drink plenty of water beforehand. This is not a fasting appointment, and you are encouraged to eat normally that day.

Criminal Background Check

  • If you are over 18, you will need to complete a Criminal Background Check through Emory Healthcare’s screening partner, First Advantage, using their secure online portal
  • You will receive an email in 24-48 hours of application submission to verify your identity and submit consent forms via First Advantage. Please complete this requests as soon as possible. 

Orientation

  • Tuesday, September 22 at Emory Decatur Hospital
  • Attendance is mandatory
