San Antonio Zoo Internship Policies:
Persons accepted into our Internship program do so with the full knowledge that they will be unpaid volunteers at San Antonio Zoo. College credit hours can be earned depending on the intern’s school policy regarding internships. Interns at the San Antonio Zoo may support a variety of departmental needs. The department, to which the volunteer is placed with and directly reports to, will provide on-the-job training and supervision throughout the internship term. Interns are expected to communicate with their direct supervisors, remain punctual, and achieve department-specific learning objectives. The San Antonio Zoo is an equal opportunity employer. There will be a $79 processing fee due upon acceptance into the program and prior to orientation (Sep. 8th).
Background Check
In connection with the evaluation of my suitability for volunteer service, I acknowledge San Antonio Zoo will require a background check to obtain criminal history related to my application for volunteer service. Any such information will be used solely for volunteer-related considerations and not for any other purpose.
