Thank you for your interest in sharing your gifts, compassion, and valuable time to support the mission of VNA Health. By filling out this application, you are taking the first step in becoming a valued member of the VNA Health Team! 

 

Before moving forward, please ensure you thoroughly understand and agree with the following requirements. VNA Health follows Medicare guidelines of considering volunteers to be "like employees." In addition, please note that our volunteer opportunities are not meant to be short-term for a few days or weeks. 

 

On-Boarding Requirements

The following steps may be completed at your own pace. There is no deadline for any of these tasks.

  • On-line Application
  • Interview
  • 1 Reference Letter
  • Sign policy forms
  • Background Check
  • Pre-employment physical
  • Drug Test. Does not include cannabis (no longer required in California as of 2023). 
  • 2 hours of on-line training. This only applies to those that will have access to client/patient information.
  • 1 On-site Orientation (Duration: 15 to 30 minutes). This does not apply to those that are only volunteering for the Serenity House Garden.

 

Annual Requirements

  • Sign the Annual Commitment Form
  • Performance Evaluation by Volunteer Program Manager

 

Weekly Requirements

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS ARE OF VERY HIGH IMPORTANCE.

  • Maintain good communication regarding any changes to your volunteer schedule. 
  • Submit your volunteer time entries within 48 hours of completing an activity.
