Informal interview and background checks
Once we’ve received your completed application form, if a suitable vacancy is available, one of our volunteer co-ordinators will contact you by phone for an informal interview and request references from your referees.
Volunteers can work in different departments, including our Retail Operation, Fundraising Department or with patients at Priscilla Bacon Lodge. Please note that all voluntary roles at Priscilla Bacon Lodge require a DBS (police background check).
Induction training
Once references (and a DBS check if required) have been completed and are considered satisfactory, we will arrange your induction, which will include essential information about becoming a volunteer. We will enrol you onto any on-line training if required.
Getting started
Following completion of your induction, you’ll receive a warm welcome to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. If required for your role, you’ll also be issued with an ID badge and uniform to wear while on duty as a volunteer.
