Volunteer Partnership Agreement
I understand my Application is subject to review and consideration. This Volunteer Partnership Agreement is effective upon acceptance of my application.
Western Australian Museum Volunteer Partnership Agreement
The Western Australian Museum commits to:
- providing induction, information, training (and where appropriate, opportunities for on-going training) and assistance for the volunteer to be able to meet the responsibilities of their role
- providing a healthy and safe workplace environment and appropriate insurance coverage
- acknowledging the rights and contributions of volunteers
- interviewing and engaging volunteers in accordance with anti-discrimination and equal
- opportunity legislation and protecting volunteer information in accordance with privacy laws
- offering volunteers opportunities appropriate to their skills, experience and aspirations
- defining volunteer roles and job descriptions
- treating volunteers as valuable members of the Western Australian Museum’s personnel
- making sure volunteers are aware of Museum policies and procedures, including grievance and disciplinary procedures
- providing support and recognition for volunteer efforts
- ensuring volunteer activities complement, but do not undermine or replace the work of paid staff.
- reimburse out of pocket expenses (as approved)
- to have confidential and personal information dealt with in accordance with the principles of the Privacy Act 1988; and
- provide ongoing information, feedback and support for the volunteer, including an annual individual feedback meeting
By submitting this application to be considered for Volunteer work with WA Museum, I:
- declare that the information contained in this application is true and correct
- agree to understand and adhere to the Culture and the Arts Code of Conduct and the Public Sector Commission Code of Ethics
- understand that I may need to undergo a police check and/or a working with children check prior to undertaking volunteer work
- understand that I will be required to undertake orientation training prior to commencement
- agree to be reliable and punctual for volunteer duties
- agree to conscientiously carry out volunteer duties as set out in the volunteer activity description
- agree to discuss any issues arising with the Volunteer Coordination team and/or the relevant supervisor
- commit to observing Occupational Health and Safety procedures and to work safely at all times
- agree to advise the the relevant Coordinator as soon as possible when unable to attend volunteer work, and
- agree to observe the policies and procedures set out in all inductions and training relevant to my chosen volunteer activities
- consent to WA Museum contacting my chosen referees
