ReStore Volunteer Policy

Located on 451 Southland Drive, Lexington Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store and donation center that sells new and used furniture, appliances, building materials, home goods and more to the public. Every purchase, donation, and hour volunteered here supports the mission of Lexington Habitat for Humanity. Some common volunteer tasks include, but are not limited to Showroom, Receiving & Processing, Home Goods, Paint Recycling, Cashier, and Books & Media.

Due to the retail nature of ReStore, we ask that most volunteers would be able to volunteer on a consistent basis. Whether it be once a week, several times a month, or some other schedule, we ask that ReStore volunteers would be able to commit to several months of consistent volunteering. We have a variety of shifts and times for volunteers, as we are open Wednesday-Saturday from 10am-6pm.

If you would be interested in volunteering at the ReStore, we would love to have you join us for a walkthrough of the store. We have all prospective ReStore volunteers go through this short walkthrough and orientation to make sure they understand the volunteer roles and tasks, see how the ReStore operates, and so we are able to answer any questions they may have. Once we go through the walkthrough, we can then look at signing you up for your first volunteer shift!
