Application Instructions
Thank you for your interest in completing court-ordered community service hours at the MD SPCA.
Please remember:
We accept some court-ordered community service volunteers. No community service hours will be granted to volunteers with felony convictions or for charges related to animal abuse.
- You must be 17 or older.
- Your charge must be a misdemeanor, or probation before judgment.
- Please allow for appropriate time to complete your hours. We cannot always accommodate last minute requests for service.
- You must be able to work in a self-directed environment.
- You must be able to complete hours during our business hours or when an appropriate staff member is available.
- You must be able to attend a training session with one of the Volunteer Coordinators.
- You are responsible for keeping track of your volunteer hours.
- If and when a signed document is needed, you must request this 1 week prior to when you need it.
