Emory Healthcare Volunteer Requirements
Thank you for your interest in the Emory University Hospital Cardiovascular Transplant ICU Thrivers Volunteer Program. Please read all information carefully before beginning.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility
- Former EUH CVTICU Patient" or "Former EUH CVTICU patient's family member or caregiver"
ONBOARDING PROCESS
Application
- Submit theEmory University Hospital Cardiovascular Transplant ICU Thrivers Volunteer Program Application, which includes the following required onboarding paperwork:
- Confidentiality Statement
- Acknowledgement of Privacy & Security Awareness
- Volunteer Standards of Conduct
- Volunteer Agreement
Interview
- Participate in an interview with a volunteer manager and CVTICU staff
Criminal Background Check
- Completed through Emory Healthcare’s screening partner, First Advantage, using their secure online portal (instructions will be shared following the interview, if accepted into the program)
Health Screening
Complete an Occupational Health Assessment with an Emory Occupational Health Nurse, including:
- Tuberculosis screening (T‑SPOT blood test)
- Submission and review of current immunization records for:
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- If documentation is unavailable, a titer blood test can be administered during the health assessment to verify immunity
Orientation
- Attendance is mandatory
- Failure to attend orientation will result in removal from the program
