Volunteering Policy
I understand that the information I provide in this application will be processed by Jewish Care in accordance with the Data Protection Laws and will be stored on a computer database. Jewish Care will collect the following:
- Your name
- Your address
- Your Date of Birth
- Your email address
- Your Telephone Numbers
- Equal Opportunities monitoring (including Ethnicity, disability, religion)
- Your health & support needs (if any)
- Criminal records declaration

2. I confirm that the information I provide herewith is true and accurate and understand that any incorrect or misleading information may result in my volunteering position being terminated without notice.
3. I understand that I am required to disclose ALL criminal convictions, cautions or pending court cases as the volunteering position I am applying for is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
4. I have the right to volunteer in the UK as one of the following applies:
• I am a UK resident
• I am a citizen of the (pre-2005) European Union or European Economic Area
• I have refugee status or exceptional leave to remain
• I am an asylum seeker
5. I understand that I will only be able to commence volunteering for Jewish Care after successfully completing the following:
• Application form – submission of this online application
• Interview - to find out more about you and discuss possible volunteering opportunities
• One satisfactory reference
• Criminal records check (for those age 16 and over)
• Proof of right to volunteer in the UK – usually verified by way of your passport
• Volunteer induction training
• Any other mandatory training required for my specific volunteering role
6. I understand that the following additional condition/s need to be met before I can volunteer if I am of a certain age:
• Under 14: a parent/carer/responsible adult must accompany me at all times when I volunteer
• 14-16: a parent or carer must complete a parent/carer consent form before I begin volunteering
• 16+: I must carry out a criminal records check with Jewish Care before I begin volunteering

Once you have chosen a username and password it’s important to fill in all of the required details, click the purple “Save and Continue” button at the bottom then kindly carry on to complete the second page of details before clicking “Submit Application”. Not completing the required detail will cause errors on the system.
