Hutt St Centre Volunteer Information
Thank you for your interest and offer of your time and skills to support us in our vision to end homelessness. We value your contributions and generosity, and hope that your time volunteering with us is a rewarding one.
Volunteering positions are available at various times between 6:45am and 1pm, Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings between 6:45am and 9am. The times of our volunteer shifts can vary depending on the area of the organisation in which you are volunteering, further information on specific roles and correlating shift times are available on our website. We will consider your interests, skills and preferences when matching you to a volunteer role.
Hutt St Centre is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone’s unique background, identity, and experiences are valued. We believe that a diverse workforce enhances our ability to provide meaningful support to those we serve. We strongly encourage volunteering from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
You must be 18+ years of age to volunteer with Hutt St Centre, and be willing to undertake our online induction modules as part of our commitment to a safe and healthy workplace. In addition, you will be required to provide a current National Police Clearance and DHS Working with Children Check. These checks are free of charge for volunteers and we can assist in completing them in person, over the phone or online.
Once you have been accepted as a volunteer, you will also receive further information about the area in which you are working when you commence in your role. You should therefore be willing to undertake any other training relevant for your volunteer role.
We thank you again for your offer of support to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, we could not open our doors without the support of our incredible volunteers.
