This is the Adult (non-student) Volunteer Application.

- I understand that I must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer at KHSC.
- I understand that not all applicants are accepted into the volunteer program.
- I understand that KHSC requests my date of birth for statistical purposes only and that it will not be used to assess my suitability for a volunteer role.
- I understand that KHSC uses a third-party company to complete reference checks.
- I understand that, as part of the onboarding process, KHSC requires submission of a criminal reference check with the vulnerable sector search (If 18 year of age or older). Additional details are provided to applicants who are invited to move forward.
- I understand that, as part of the onboarding process, KHSC requires submission of a negative 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) test proof of required immunizations; and that I will be provided with a form to be completed by a health care provider if I am invited to move forward.
- I understand that I am responsible for the costs associated with completing these required documents and that I will be informed of the reimbursement process and eligibility.
- I understand that if I don’t meet with a member of the Volunteer Services team within two (2) months of submitting my application, that my application will be removed from the database, but that I am welcome to reapply.
- I understand that references are not guaranteed for KHSC volunteers. Verification of volunteer service can be provided to any volunteer upon request; however, personalized letters of reference are reserved for volunteers who have completed over 100 hours of consistent service and/or have held a leadership role.
- I understand that responses that appear to be copied directly from AI or do not genuinely answer the questions being asked may not be considered. While we recognize that AI can be a helpful tool for organizing thoughts or refining wording, your application should reflect your own experiences, ideas, and communication style.
