Volunteer Qualifications
To qualify as a volunteer for Memorial Hall you must:
- Be a welcoming, friendly and helpful resource to every guest, regardless of their attitude, and possess the highest level of professionalism and customer service.
- Be open to helping event staff outside of specific usher responsibilities.
- Be able to follow directions and be flexible as the role and needs of staff may change through an event at a moment’s notice.
- Be approachable and available. Patrons should feel comfortable coming to you for information or with problems and you should do what you can to assist, and then make yourself available for the next patron.
- Be proactive. If you see a situation where you can be of assistance without compromising your usher duties, please help. This includes before, during and after the concert.
- Be able to read and comprehend seating charts and tickets, often in dim lighting.
- Be able to stand, sit or move through Memorial Hall for long periods of time.
- Be able to communicate clearly to our patrons.
- Provide helpful feedback to event staff to help improve execution of events and the usher program.
- Be timely and stay active for the duration of an usher shift.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Attend usher onsite training - You will receive information to complete this step once your application has been submitted.
