Kansas Humane Society Volunteer Policies
If accepted as a Kansas Humane Society (KHS) volunteer, I understand and agree to the following:

I will complete a KHS Assumption of Risk, Indemnification, Release, and Consent Form for myself and any minor volunteers for whom I am the parent or legal guardian.

I agree to be supervised by the Volunteer Coordinator, Shelter Supervisor, or their designee, and will report any concerns or issues directly to a supervisor or the Volunteer Coordinator.

I agree that KHS may photograph or otherwise record my participation as a volunteer. I hereby consent to the Kansas Humane Society’s use of my name, likeness, voice, or similar recordings for publicity, educational, or promotional purposes, and waive any right to contest such use now or in the future.

I authorize KHS to seek emergency medical treatment for me and any minor for whom I am the parent or legal guardian in case of accident, injury, or illness. I understand that if I am injured while acting as an unpaid volunteer, I am not covered under Kansas workers’ compensation law.

If I am a parent or legal guardian of a minor shelter volunteer, I will ensure that the minor complies with the terms of this Volunteer Agreement and follows all KHS policies and procedures applicable to shelter volunteers.
