Halifax Pride Volunteer Guidelines
All volunteers at Halifax Pride are expected to respect and adhere to our Safer Spaces Policy. Halifax Pride is committed to creating and maintaining spaces that are accessible, inclusive, and free from oppression, harassment, and discrimination.
As a volunteer, you agree to uphold a standard of conduct that ensures everyone is treated with respect and dignity regardless of:
- age
- race
- gender identity
- gender expression
- sexual orientation
- ability
- religious affiliation
- or any other aspect of their identity.
By participating as a volunteer, you contribute to a safer, more welcoming Halifax Pride for everyone.

All Halifax Pride volunteers are expected to recognize and respect the land on which our festival and activities take place.
We acknowledge that Halifax Pride occurs in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This land is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, and we affirm that we are all Treaty people.
Volunteers are asked to carry this acknowledgement with intention and mindfulness, recognizing the responsibilities that come with gathering and working on Indigenous land.
