Requirements - Ideal volunteer candidates will have:
High school graduation or higher and be 19+ years of age
Excellent reading, verbal and active listening skills & English fluency
Steps to begin your volunteering journey with VLC:
1. Forms. Create an account and fill in the Volunteer Application
2. References. Have 2 people send letters of support directly to volunteer@victorialiteracyconnection.ca. Guidelines will be emailed to you after you submit your application.
3. Interview. The Volunteer Coordinator will invite you for an interview when the two references have been received.
4. Criminal Record Check. After the interview, you will be given the information needed to obtain a vulnerable sector criminal record check (CRC).
5. Orientation, program matching and training.
