Variety BC Volunteer Police
1. Purpose
Volunteers play a vital role in advancing Variety BC’s mission to support children and families across British Columbia. We deeply value the enthusiasm, energy, and skills that volunteers contribute. This policy outlines the expectations and responsibilities of all volunteers to ensure a safe, respectful, and professional environment for our community, partners, and the children we serve.
2. Role of the Volunteer
2.1 Representing Variety BC
Volunteers are ambassadors of Variety BC. When participating in events, interacting with the public, or engaging online, volunteers are expected to:
- Represent Variety BC in a positive, respectful, and professional manner
- Uphold the values, mission, and reputation of the organisation
- Demonstrate courtesy, inclusivity, and kindness in all interactions
- Follow staff direction and event protocols
2.2 Supporting Programs and Events
Volunteers enhance the impact of Variety BC by contributing to the success of our Community community events. Volunteers are expected to:
- Work collaboratively with Variety BC staff, fellow volunteers, sponsors, and partners
- Support event operations as assigned, including setup, guest engagement, logistics, and wrap‑up
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and family‑friendly environment
- Ask questions when unsure and seek clarification when needed
- Bring forward ideas, feedback, and concerns respectfully
Volunteers are part of the Variety BC team, and their contributions help ensure that every event and program reflects the organization’s commitment to excellence and compassion.
