North York General – Join our Volunteer Team!
I understand that North York General (NYG) Volunteer Resources:
- May only contact me if my application is being considered for current volunteer opportunities.
- Upon acceptance, will do their best to place me based on available opportunities and my interests and availability.
- Upon acceptance and completion of all onboarding requirements, will provide orientation, training, and guidance.
I agree to:
- Be at least 14 years old when I submit this application
- Confirm I am not an employee or learner at NYG and will not be applying for academic placement at NYG in the next year.
- Excluding those employees who volunteer as a representative of a third-party organization.
- Demonstrate a proficient level of English, both speaking and writing.
- Complete all onboarding requirements, including a mandatory health screening (two-step TB test and documentation of immunizations).
- Provide a police record check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening, if requested.
- Commit to at least one 3–4-hour shift per week for a minimum of one (1) year.
- Provide a deposit for a uniform and I.D. Badge:
- $20 for adults
- $5 for high school students
- Adhere to all North York General (NYG) and Volunteer Resources program and policy requirements including annual mandatory training every April.
