MBTF Volunteer Policy
Purpose
The Munda Biddi Trail Foundation (MBTF) recognises the important contribution volunteers make to the stewardship, maintenance, promotion, and protection of the Munda Biddi Trail.
This policy establishes the principles, responsibilities, and requirements that support volunteer involvement and ensures volunteers are engaged in a safe, inclusive, and effective manner.
Partnership with DBCA
MBTF works in partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), the land manager of the Munda Biddi Trail.
Volunteers participating in approved activities must be registered through DBCA's volunteer framework and are covered by applicable insurance arrangements when operating within authorised activities and procedures.

Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers must:

Register as a DBCA Trail Volunteer before participating in approved MBTF activities.

Ensure volunteers under 18 years of age are supervised by a parent or guardian.

Review and acknowledge the MBTF Volunteer Handbook, DBCA Volunteer Code of Conduct, and relevant safety information.

Accurately record volunteer activity hours through the MBTF Volunteer Portal.

Treat staff, fellow volunteers, trail users, stakeholders, and members of the public with respect and courtesy.

Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Undertake activities within their skills, training, and authorised responsibilities.

Report hazards, incidents, injuries, and trail issues through approved processes.

Respect and protect the natural environment, cultural heritage, and Trail corridor.

Act honestly, responsibly, and professionally when representing the Foundation and its partners.
