USBG Volunteer Agreement
As a Volunteer at the United States Botanic Garden (USBG) I agree to the below terms.
VOLUNTEER acknowledges that Volunteer will not be paid any compensation for the Voluntary Services and will not be considered an employee of the United States for any purpose other than for purposes defined within 2 U.S.C. § 2146(c), limited to workers’ compensation claims under U.S. Code Title 5, Chapter 81.
VOLUNTEER releases and forever discharges the United States of America and its agents, officers and employees, their successors, assigns heirs, executors and administrators of and from any and every claim, (other than a workers' compensation claim under U.S. Code Title 5, Chapter 81) demand, action or right of action, of whatsoever kind or nature, either in law or in equity arising from or by reason of an bodily injury or personal injuries known or unknown, death and/or property damage resulting or to result from any injury which may occur as the result of the volunteer relationship with the USBG or any activities in connection with the USBG.
VOLUNTEER agrees to keep all information contained in source documents or other media furnished by the government in the strictest confidence. Volunteer also agrees not to publish or otherwise divulge such information in whole or in part in any manner or form, or to authorize or permit others to do so, taking such reasonable measures as are necessary to restrict access to such information while in Volunteer’s possession, to those employees needing such information to perform the work provided, i.e., on a "need to know" basis.
VOLUNTEER acknowledges that this Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties; that Volunteer has carefully read the same and has full knowledge of the significance of its contents; and that Volunteer assents to this Agreement as their own free act.
