Organization Policies
Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our team within Performing Arts in The City of Brampton. The City of Brampton is dedicated to operating the highest level of quality programming and we are happy that you are committed to assist us with your skills. There are many programs that could not function effectively without the assistance of our volunteers.
During your time as a volunteer you will play an active role assisting in the delivery of the programs we offer; and you will have access to volunteer opportunities across the City. To gain the most from this experience, you are encouraged to participate in all aspects in the program.
Your role as a volunteer is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our patrons; promote a good public image; provide superior customer service and provide direction to patrons during an emergency situation.
You must be 16 years and over to participate as a volunteer in within this program. There is both an adult program and a student program. The student program covers the 40 hour community involvement and at the end of the 40 hours students receive a report from the City of Brampton confirming their hourly involvement and if requested by the student, may also receive a letter of recommendation that can be used when seeking employment. Students may go directly into the adult program once they have completed the student program.
You are almost there...just a few things more to do before we can accept your application to volunteer with the City of Brampton. Here are a few things you should know about as you go through our volunteer application process.
Sign up below and fill out your Better Impact Profile!
The following 3 steps must be completed in order before you can be accepted as an active volunteer:
Step 1:
Orientation
- After you create your Better Impact profile and fill out the application, you will be able to sign up for an upcoming orientation session. Attendance to an orientation session is mandatory.
- If you cannot attend the upcoming orientation, we hold sessions throughout the year and can get you in for the next one.
Step 2:
Volunteer Waiver:
- This will be given to you at the orientation session. Please complete, including your signature and that of your parents, if you are under 18 years of age. You then scan or take a photo of the signed Volunteer Waiver and email it to btv@brampton.ca
Step 3:
Level 1 Criminal Record Check
- After the orientation, you will be e-mailed a letter from Performing Arts Brampton requesting a Level 1 Criminal Record Check.
- Please bring this letter to your local Police Station. Everyone requires the Level 1 Criminal Record Check. There is a charge of $35 applied by Peel Regional Police. If you live outside of Brampton/ Mississauga, you will need to get your Police Information Check from the Police Department in your area.
- Once received, drop off the ORIGINAL Police Clearance Certificate (with seal) to the Coordinator, Volunteer Services at The Rose. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BEGIN YOUR TRAINING SHIFTS WITHOUT PROVIDING THIS DOCUMENT.
Thank you for deciding to make The City of Brampton one of your choices for volunteering. It is important to us that you have a great experience every step of the way. If you have any questions along the way, do not hesitate to drop us an email at btv@brampton.ca.
