CONDITIONS

To apply to be a Walkabout Warriors volunteer you must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Agree to act in accordance with Walkabout’s values, policies, procedures and processes.
  • Maintain a culture that is positive, welcoming and respectful of all people and all animals.
  • Maintain a current Walkabout Membership.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check (or be willing to get one).
  • Hold a current National Police Check (or be willing to undergo screening).
  • Have your own email address which you check daily.
  • Be able to volunteer around 4 hours per fortnight.

Volunteers wanting to learn everything needed for a career working with animals (Vocational Volunteer TAFE and UNI students) need to do 16 hours per week to maintain their pace of learning.

Walkabout recruits on a needs basis for particular roles throughout the year.
