By completing and submitting a volunteer application, you are agreeing to abide by the following policies:
Age Requirements: Neighbor Care Center volunteers must be 16 years or older. Respite House volunteers must be 12 years or older. Micah has several ministries that can accommodate youth, but all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
What to Bring: Please keep personal valuables to a minimum as we do not provide lock boxes for belongings.
Attendance: Your help is vital to our success! If you need to cancel a volunteer shift, please do so using the MyImpact volunteer portal. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of your shift, please also email the Community Engagement Navigator at Alacia@dolovewalk.net.
Photo and Video Policy: People experiencing homelessness lead lives exposed to both the elements and the public eye. In an effort to protect privacy, please refrain from taking pictures or videos of our neighbors. When you come in to volunteer, you also consent to allowing us to use photos taken while you are here volunteering.
Dress Code: Micah Ministries is a dynamic environment. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for a shelter setting. When preparing food, please wear closed-toe shoes and tops with sleeves.
Confidentiality: Volunteers are to respect the privacy and confidentiality of neighbors at all time. As a volunteer, you will be privy to personal information, stories, etc., and ought to treat this information with the utmost respect.
