Things to Know
PAWS exists to create opportunities for people to live with dignity, companionship, and confidence through the use of our dogs. As a volunteer, we ask that you trust and follow the organization’s rules, policies, and procedures. They are established for the best interests of PAWS Dogs, Staff, Clients, and the community. You must also agree to embrace all aspects of breeding, raising, and training PAWS’ Working Dogs which are critical to finding each dog’s best and highest final placement and to deliver the greatest opportunities for change in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. No matter how you volunteer at PAWS, you will play an important role in changing people’s lives.
PAWS’ goal is to create a safe environment for our dogs, staff, and volunteers. To ensure this, PAWS conducts a criminal background check on all prospective volunteers 18 and older.
PAWS is requesting that all volunteers be at least 16 years of age. While we have some family friendly volunteer activities, volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
PAWS is requesting a minimum 3-month commitment from volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to remain in the program for beyond the initial 3 months.
If you are part of a group that would like to volunteer for a day or half-day service project at PAWS, please complete our interest form here: Group Volunteering • Paws With A Cause and our volunteer team will be in touch to get you on the schedule.
At this time PAWS is not able to accept any court ordered community service volunteers.
