SafeHouse Center Volunteer Expectations
Before applying, please make sure you are able to attend the full live volunteer training and complete all required recorded videos by the assigned deadline.
As you move through the application process, we encourage you to check your spam folder regularly, as important follow up emails may occasionally be filtered there.
Here are the following steps to continue the volunteer process:
- Live within one hour of SafeHouse Center
- Comply with background check and fingerprinting
- Once you’ve completed your interview and been accepted, you’ll begin with 13 hours of pre-recorded training videos to prepare for your volunteer role.
- Attendance is required at all four days of direct service training. We appreciate your commitment and dedication as you prepare for this important work.
- Thursday, September 17, 6pm-9pm (Virtual)
- Friday, September 18, 6pm-9pm (Virtual)
- Saturday, September 19, 9am-5pm (In-Person)
- Sunday, September 20, 9am-5pm (In-Person)
- We ask that all volunteers commit to six consecutive months of service with SafeHouse Center, so we can best support our clients and community together.
- Attend the Mandatory Program Training
- Response Team: Saturday, September 26, 9am-4pm, In-Person and Sunday, September 27, 9am-2pm, Virtual
- Support Group Program: Saturday, September 26, 9am-4pm, In-Person and Sunday September 27, 9am-2pm, Virtual
- Helpline: Friday, October 1, 9am-5pm and Saturday, October 2, 9am-5pm, In-Person
- Shelter Facility Care: Saturday, October 2, 9am-5pm In-Person
- Children's Activities: Saturday October 2, 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-5pm, In-Person
