To ensure an excellent experience for our volunteers, staff, and citizens, to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and policies as instructed by the City of Newport News.
To volunteer in shelter: volunteers must be at least 16 years old, have completed orientation packet signed on file that include forms such as release of liability, non conviction statement, & authorization for a background check to be completed.
To volunteer with the foster program you must be 18 years old and sign forms such as release of liability, non conviction statement.
