 Volunteer Requirements:

  • Attend a volunteer information session (online meetings held in spring, summer and fall - in March, July and October). 
  • Able to attend an orientation &/or training session
  • Be in good physical and mental health
  • COVID vaccine and Influenza vaccines are recommended
  • As per Provincial health directives, mask - wearing may be mandatory if directed, e.g. during respiratory season. 
  • Are able to make a one year commitment
  • Provide contact details for two references after your interview
  • Submit a free online Criminal Record Clearance after being contacted for an interview
  • Complete online courses after being accepted as a volunteer
  • For positions with direct patient contact at BC Children's & Sunny Hill, previous work or volunteer experience with children is required.

All complaints will be taken seriously and will be dealt with in a confidential, impartial and timely manner. 

Violations of this Policy will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary actions being taken, up to and including termination of employment/assignment and/or revocation of privileges.
